Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Hathaway!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez fails with the takedown.
Sanchez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hathaway scores with a sloppy right hand. Sanchez should have avoided that one.
Hathaway connects with a crisp jab.

Sanchez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sanchez lands in his opponent's guard.
Hathaway keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully.
Sanchez throws a big right hand that misses.
Hathaway manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanchez has a closed guard, preventing Hathaway from standing up.
Hathaway wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hathaway stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hathaway is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A head kick misses from Hathaway.
Hathaway throws a head kick but Sanchez moves out of range.
Thiago Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hathaway throws out a powerful jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hathaway, as that shot connected.
Hathaway stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hathaway wants it to stay on the feet.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A thudding body kick lands there by Hathaway!
Sanchez is breathing heavily.
Sanchez shoots in and drives through. Hathaway sprawls well.

Sanchez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sanchez showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hathaway is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hathaway wants to control but Sanchez is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hathaway has his hands clasped together around Sanchez's back. He's all about the action.
Sanchez is thwarting Hathaway's attempts to control the position.

Hathaway preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Daniel Hathaway.
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Hathaway tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hathaway manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hathaway lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hathaway tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Hathaway tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hathaway manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hathaway lands a head shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt.
Hathaway lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hathaway will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sanchez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hathaway scores with a one two! Sanchez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Thiago Sanchez has been cut.
Sanchez throws a wild hook but Hathaway just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Sanchez gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Hathaway raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Hathaway!
During a confident post fight interview, Daniel Hathaway thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
