PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pasi Pajautus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pedrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pedrera has chosen Kill your God as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pasi Pajautus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jose Pedrera!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pajautus leaves Pedrera with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pajautus fails to land with a series of punches.
Pedrera shoots for a double leg takedown but Pajautus sprawls well. He's pushed Pedrera's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A punch combination from Pajautus misses.
Pedrera avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice takedown defense from Pajautus. No joy for Pedrera on that attempt.
Pasi Pajautus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Pedrera.
Pedrera avoids the body shot from Pajautus.

Pedrera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pedrera tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pajautus tries to escape but Pedrera is in control.
Pajautus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pedrera on the ground.

Pedrera is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pajautus is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pedrera is trying to get an arm triangle but Pajautus is defending well.
Pajautus wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Pedrera wants to control but Pajautus is keeping him busy.

Pedrera tries for a kimura but Pajautus is defending well.

Pedrera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pajautus tries to escape but Pedrera is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pedrera is trying to get an arm triangle but Pajautus is defending well.

Pedrera has hold of Pajautus's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pajautus seems comfortable defending it but Pedrera has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pajautus is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pajautus is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pedrera couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jose Pedrera!
