Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mao Zedong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers comes into the arena with We Run This - Missy Elliot blaring out of the sound system. Jerome Powers has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zedong tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Powers counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Zedong fails in his attempt to clinch.
Zedong throws a head kick but Powers moves out of range.
Powers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Powers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Powers slaps away a takedown attempt from Zedong, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Zedong looks to land a body kick but Powers moved away.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerome Powers will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Powers takes a swing at Zedong's ribcage but misses.

Powers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zedong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Powers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zedong moves away.

Zedong drives through with a takedown into Powers's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Zedong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Powers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
