Briggs comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Can't Be Touched kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Johnson Briggs will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Carwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnson Briggs!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Briggs was well out of range. Poor timing from Carwin.
Carwin throws a series of punches but Briggs moves out of range.
Carwin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carwin misses with a combination

and Briggs counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Carwin tries to kick Briggs off but Briggs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Well, if Briggs is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Briggs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carwin defends it well.
Briggs content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Briggs is looking to take a break and control but Carwin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Briggs wants to pass to mount but Carwin is defending the position.
Briggs trying to control the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Briggs is trying to control the action in half guard but Carwin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Johnson Briggs has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Carwin tries to bum rush Briggs with a series of wild strikes but Briggs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Briggs closes the distance and clinches up with Carwin, looking for a takedown. Briggs pushes Carwin against the cage but Carwin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Carwin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Frank Carwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carwin misses with an uppercut. Briggs saw that one coming.
Carwin throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Briggs crashing down! Briggs tries to stagger back to his feet but Carwin just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Briggs asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Carwin!
Frank Carwin decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
