PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Salvador Dali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Ferrier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dali comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop Believing. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dali uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ferrier.
Dali tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ferrier was well out of range. Poor timing from Dali.

Dali drives through with a takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dali makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ferrier avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Ferrier manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ferrier fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ferrier misses with the combination.
Dali throws a low kick but Ferrier avoids it.
Ferrier shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dali eats them both and turns towards Ferrier to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dali swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ferrier throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Ferrier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ferrier swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dali shoots in for a double leg but Ferrier sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ferrier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dali but Dali pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dali looks to throw the jab but Ferrier is out of range.

Dali drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dali keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ferrier's head.
Dali is in close to Ferrier's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ferrier shoots in for a double leg but Dali sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ferrier fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dali.
Ferrier connects with the punch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Dali shoots in and gets a takedown into Ferrier's guard.
Dali is working Ferrier over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Salvador Dali will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dali throws a right hand that Ferrier ducks under and follows up with a left that Ferrier also avoids with ease.

Salvador Dali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ferrier leaves Dali with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dali closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ferrier did well to prevent Dali getting side control.

Ferrier wants to get back to his feet but Dali is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ferrier tries to roll over but Dali keeps him under control.
Ferrier wants to get back to full guard but Dali has mounted him!
Ferrier really wants to buck Dali off and get back to his feet.

Dali closes the distance and clinches up with Ferrier, looking for a takedown. Dali pushes Ferrier against the cage but Ferrier circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ferrier fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dali looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Nick Ferrier seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Horrible takedown by Dali or perhaps it was just good defense by Ferrier which made him look bad.

Dali tries to work over Ferrier's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
