PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Boyko!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyko throws a low kick, looking for Lee's leg but Lee calmly moves out of range.
Boyko looks to throw the jab but Lee is out of range.
Boyko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Boyko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boyko looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Lee closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Boyko quickly recovers to half guard.
Lee tries to stand and escape but Boyko is controlling the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lee connects with a nice short shot to Boyko's temple.
Boyko regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lee.
Lee wants to control from the top but Boyko keeps moving.
Boyko looks gassed!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boyko is on top in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee wants to get back to his feet but Boyko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Boyko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lee moves to clinch but Boyko breaks away

and Boyko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Boyko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boyko is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boyko missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lee is looking to stand back up but Boyko counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lee.
Boyko not doing much here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boyko stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Boyko has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Boyko and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Boyko just misses with a punch to the body.

Boyko gets a takedown into half guard.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.

Boyko postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lee to stand up.
Boyko shoots in but no luck this time.

Lee moves into range and clinches up with Boyko.

Lee drags the fight down to the ground.

Boyko gets to his feet. Lee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boyko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Boyko dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lee shoots in looking for a takedown. Boyko tries to sprawl out of it but Lee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boyko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boyko shoots for a takedown but Lee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lee lands with a slapping head kick.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lee prevents the takedown attempt.
Lee lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Lee is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Boyko is defending well for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
With the fighters up against the cage, Lee throws an elbow but misses.
Boyko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lee looking for a takedown.

Lee has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Boyko clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Boyko breaks Lee's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Boyko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Boyko won't allow Lee to get back to his feet.
Boyko stands and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boyko on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee seems a little lost for a moment, as Boyko dominates the positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boyko decides to stand back up. Boyko steps back and let's Lee get back to his feet.
Lee scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boyko doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lee gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Boyko regains guard.
Boyko controls Lee momentarily but Lee frees himself.

Boyko pushes Lee off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boyko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Boyko rushes Lee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Lee pulls guard.
Lee on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lee tries to get out of the position.

Boyko gets to his feet. Lee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Boyko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Boyko is working to tighten is grip on Lee's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lee has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Boyko is really squeezing tight and eventually Lee passes out! Boyko breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
