Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Calaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerr comes into the arena with Scotland The Brave [Instrumental] blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Calaway. Kerr shrugs it off though.
Kerr jabs Calaway right on the nose. Calaway blinks but takes it well.
Kerr looks to score with a jab to the body but Calaway is just out of range.
Calaway lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Tom Kerr has been cut.
Kerr looks to land a left hand but Calaway moved out of range nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Calaway clinches.
Calaway pushes Kerr back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Calaway gets through Kerr's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Calaway tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Kerr prevents a body shot from Calaway.
Calaway lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kerr backwards.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Calaway creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Calaway works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Kerr is breathing heavily.
Calaway struggles to land a body shot inside as Kerr controls his hands.
Calaway lands a body shot in the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Calaway as the two fighters clinch.
Calaway gets underhooks to prevent Kerr's takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee calls for Calaway to work.
Calaway breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Calaway throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kerr's head.
Calaway throws a nice outside leg kick.
Calaway shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Calaway was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Calaway takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Calaway cracks Kerr with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Urijah Calaway! Urijah Calaway retains his heavyweight title!
Urijah Calaway gave a mention to O'Brannigan's Fightwear in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
