Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Erekson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Miller's choice of entrance music: Bis das Blut gefriert. Jacob Miller is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Miller!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller moves out of range as Erekson throws a body kick.
Erekson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miller manages to avoid it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Erekson tries to clinch there but Miller circles away.
Erekson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Erekson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Erekson throws a body punch but Miller moves out of range.

Miller scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Miller decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Miller throws a head kick that misses.

Miller closes the distance and clinches.

Erekson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Erekson instigates a clinch.
Miller is trying to force a seperation but Erekson has the dominant position.

Miller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Miller tries to clinch up but Erekson circles away and keeps his distance.

Miller is trying to push Erekson away but Erekson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Erekson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Erekson working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Miller wants to break free but Erekson has control.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Erekson.
Miller tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Erekson looking to throw knees to the head but Miller is blocking nicely.

Miller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miller is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Erekson swings for the body but Miller moves out of range.
Erekson throws a lazy uppercut
and Miller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Miller manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Erekson on his heels. He'll look to pass Erekson's guard now, I'm sure.
Erekson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Erekson is working an open guard so Miller takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Miller rushes Erekson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Erekson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Erekson prevents Miller from breaking the clinch.

Erekson swats away the attempt to clinch by Miller.
Miller drops his hands momentarily and Erekson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Erekson keeps the fight on the outside.
Erekson tests Miller's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Erekson tries to clinch but Miller moves out of range.
Miller misses with a head kick.
Miller misses with an attempted mid kick.
Erekson avoids the head kick by Miller.
Erekson misses with a wild body shot.

Miller lands a knee to the head.
Erekson blocks an elbow strike from Miller.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Erekson.
Erekson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Miller has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Erekson scores with a nice hook to the head.
Erekson misses with the head strike.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Miller closes the distance and pushes Erekson back into the cage.
Erekson swings wildly with an uppercut but Miller uses good head movement to avoid it.
A short left from Erekson.
Erekson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Millers head.


Miller is rocked!
Miller has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Miller is still on wobbly legs! Can Erekson finish him?
Miller wants to break free but Erekson has control.
Erekson lands a nice uppercut.
Erekson dips a shoulder and cracks Miller with a mighty uppercut! Miller falls back against the cage and Erekson unloads with a barrage of strikes! Miller is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Erekson screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Erekson!
