Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Machette Gashiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machette Gashiko is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Machette Gashiko!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gashiko throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.

Gashiko rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Gashiko lands a nice uppercut.

Gashiko is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gashiko uses from the top position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jones holds on and takes a little breather.

Gashiko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gashiko has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.

Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gashiko avoids it really well and circles away.

Jones rushes Gashiko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jones blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

and Gashiko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gashiko smiles and moves away.

Gashiko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gashiko swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gashiko lands a shot to the body.
Gashiko lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Gashiko has the dominant position.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gashiko creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Gashiko lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jones tries to break free but Gashiko pushes him back against the cage.
Jones jumps guard but Gashiko turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Jones is trying to maintain a safe position but Gashiko gets an underhook and turns Jones into the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gashiko digs a right hand into Jones's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jones's gas tank.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gashiko gets through Jones's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gashiko's guard.
Gashiko manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gashiko sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Machette Gashiko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jones tries to clinch up but Gashiko circles away and keeps his distance.
Gashiko misses with a wild combination.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones just misses with a punch to the body.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Gashiko which made him look bad.

Gashiko connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.
Gashiko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gashiko might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gashiko is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gashiko chips away with some ground and pound.
Gashiko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gashiko is controlling him.

Machette Gashiko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gashiko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
