Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Don Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Whissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whissell is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rose Of Sharon. George Whissell has the eye of the tiger tonight.

With a record of 28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, George Whissell!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whissell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Whissell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hall.
Hall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Whissell throws a hook but Hall blocks it.
A punch combination from Hall misses.
Sloppy strikes from Hall. Those never looked like landing.
Whissell lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hall throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Whissell throws out a loose jab but Hall uses good head movement to avoid it.
Whissell takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hall.

Hall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hall throws a leg kick but Whissell checks it.
Whissell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hall moves away.

Hall throws a push kick but Whissell slaps the foot to one side.

Good leg kick by Hall there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hall lands with an overhand left.
Whissell leaves Hall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Whissell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whissell.
Hall dodges the punch combination from Whissell.
Hall is looking to wear down Whissell with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Whissell throws a lazy right hand but Hall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

George Whissell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

letting Whissell counter with a right hand.

Whissell throws a looping overhand right but Hall ducks down to avoid it.
Whissell connects with a solid leg kick.

Whissell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hall.
Hall throws a sloppy head kick and Whissell moves out of range easily.
Hall shoots for a double leg takedown but Whissell sprawls well. He's pushed Hall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Whissell goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Whissell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hall throws a low kick, looking for Whissell's leg but Whissell calmly moves out of range.
Whissell looks to land a left hand but Hall moved out of range nicely.
Whissell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hall moves out of range as Whissell strikes.
Whissell throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hall looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Hall misses with a looping right.
Whissell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Whissell is looking to chop away at Hall's legs.
Hall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Whissell circles away quickly and effectively.
Hall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hall throws a series of punches but Whissell moves out of range.
Whissell has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Hall fails to land with a series of punches.
Whissell uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hall has time to react.
Whissell cracks Hall with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Hall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hall showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Whissell.

Whissell throws a hook but Hall blocks it.

Whissell throws a jab when Hall was well out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hall tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whissell was well out of range. Poor timing from Hall.
Whissell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Whissell takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hall fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Whissell misses with an uppercut.
Whissell takes a swing at Hall's ribcage but misses.
Hall misses with an uppercut. Whissell saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Hall will probably get the nod.

Hall scores with a one two! Whissell had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Hall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Whissell throws out the jab.
Whissell lands with a nice combination. Hall backs away looking to recover.
Whissell looks to throw the jab but Hall is out of range.
Whissell scores with a jab. Hall acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Whissell throws a low kick but Hall moves out of range easily.
Don Hall is winning the standup battle so far.

and Hall counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Whissell thinking.

Don Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hall throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Whissell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hall is in Whissell's guard.
Hall tries to free his leg and advance position but Whissell is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hall won't allow Whissell to sweep him here.

Whissell wants to stand and escape but Hall is having none of it.
Whissell can't keep his opponent in guard - Hall advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Whissell is trying to control but can't.

Hall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Whissell looks like he's trying to stand up.
Whissell is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Whissell is defending against the submission attempts here by Hall.
Whissell pushes Hall off looking to stand but Hall dives back in and keeps control.

Hall is trying to work for a kimura but Whissell is defending well.
Hall works his way into full mount!
Hall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Whissell is looking to escape.

Hall goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Whissell is on top in guard.
Hall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Whissell's guard.

Hall drops back looking for a leg! Whissell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Whissell manages to kick Hall off! Hall jumps back into Whissell's guard.
Whissell looking for a sweep. Not yet Whissell, not yet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Whissell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hall defends it easily.
Hall pushing down on Whissell's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Hall dominated that second round.

Hall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whissell's guard.
Don Hall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hall with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hall slips nicely into half guard.
Whissell is trying to control but can't.
Hall passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Whissell!
Hall pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Whissell is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Hall locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Whissell is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Don Hall!
Don Hall retains his lightweight title!
