PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gus Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dutch Kush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kush has chosen I'M T.N.T as his entrance music. Dutch Kush told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dutch Kush!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kush's jab looks to have found its range, popping Corleone under the eye.
The crowd cheers as Kush lands an impressive looking overhand right. Corleone doesn't seem phased though.
Kush moves out of range of the strikes.
Corleone misses with a low kick.
Kush connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Corleone momentarily.

Kush darts in and clinches Corleone up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kush breaks from the clinch.
Kush throws a body punch but Corleone moves out of range.
Kush takes a swing at Corleone's ribcage but misses.
Corleone takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
An inside leg kick from Corleone misses.
Kush feints and then cracks Corleone's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Corleone down.
Kush lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kush throws a quick inside leg kick.
Corleone thows a body shot but no joy.
Corleone takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Corleone is breathing heavily.

Kush has closed the distance and engaged Corleone in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corleone blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kush lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Corleone tries to circle away but Kush has him pinned against the cage.
Kush avoiding damage.

Kush manages to break the clinch.
Corleone throws a body punch but Kush moves out of range.
Corleone misses with a wild body shot.
Kush throws a nice looking combination but Corleone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Decent striking displayed by Corleone there.
Corleone misses the shot to the body.
Corleone walks into a jab.
Corleone throws a looping overhand right but Kush ducks down to avoid it.
Kush fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Corleone.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kush lands with a nice body punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kush lands a glancing blow to the side of Corleone's head.
Kush lands with a nice combination. Corleone backs away looking to recover.
Kush throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Corleone stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Corleone keeps the fight on the outside.
Corleone doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Kush moves into the clinch successfully.

Kush breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kush's corner calls for a 1-2. Kush obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kush thows a body shot but no joy.
Kush is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Corleone had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Kush closes the distance and pushes Corleone back into the cage.

Kush manages to break the clinch.

Corleone throws a body punch but Kush moves out of range.
Corleone connects with a jab.
Corleone fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kush is out of range.
Kush tries to close the distance and clinch up but Corleone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Corleone lands with a straight right. Kush didn't see that one coming.
Corleone misses with a looping left.
Corleone misses with a body shot
and Kush counters with a nice uppercut.
Kush misses with a wild combination.
Corleone misses with the combination.
Kush ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kush looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Corleone cracks a nice hook into Kush's ribs.
Corleone ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kush connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Corleone on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kush keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kush lands a nice hook to Corleone's body. Corleone takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Corleone is looking to wear down Kush with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Kush tries to close the distance and clinch but Corleone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kush misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Corleone fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kush cracks Corleone with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oooooh!!! Kush has knocked Corleone down with a huge combo! Kush steps away and waves a wobbly Corleone back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dutch Kush dominated that round.

Dutch Kush is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A looping hook to the body misses from Corleone. Kush does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kush lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Corleone falls backwards - clearly groggy! Kush dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
