Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Melbye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Rocker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Beware-Big Pun kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Matt Melbye has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Melbye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donnie Rocker! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melbye avoids the head kick by Rocker.
Rocker shoots in and drives through. Melbye sprawls well. Rocker fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rocker avoids a kick to the body.
Melbye throws a sloppy head kick and Rocker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Melbye is on top in guard.
Rocker wants to sweep but no luck. Rocker looks gassed! Melbye wants to control from the top but Rocker keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Melbye trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Melbye advances to half guard. Melbye seems to be looking for submissions.
Melbye is looking to take a break and control but Rocker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Melbye tries to pass to full mount but Rocker defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melbye looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Melbye is trying to control the action in half guard but Rocker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Melbye moves nicely into side control. Rocker can't do much from the bottom here. Melbye goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rocker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Melbye but great work by Rocker. Rocker trying to control the position but Melbye is working away. Rocker is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Melbye manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Melbye is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rocker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rocker's back!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Melbye tightening his grip on Rocker, looking for the choke. Melbye keeps control of the position as Rocker tries to break free.
Melbye is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Rocker with him. Rocker is trying to defend but Melbye has an arm under the chin now! Rocker grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Matt Melbye!
