Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Grace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steel Maguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grace comes to the ring accompanied by Go To Sleep - Eminem. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steel Maguire!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grace drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Grace trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Grace trying to control but Maguire is working from the bottom.
Grace stands and throws Maguire's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Maguire wants to control but Grace postures up.
The ground and pound from Grace seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Grace is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maguire has escaped the position, nice work there.

Grace swings around for an armbar but Maguire sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Grace's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Grace has his foot on Maguire's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maguire works his way back into a safe position though.
Grace controls Maguire momentarily but Maguire frees himself.
Maguire wants to control from the top but Grace keeps moving.
Maguire has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Grace is proving hard to escape from.
Maguire pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grace is keeping the position for now.
Grace striking off his back but it's not causing Maguire any problems.
Maguire really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grace. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Grace tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Maguire trying to control the position from guard on top but Grace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Steel Maguire has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Maguire tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Grace manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Maguire is looking to clinch.
Maguire throws a poor cross that misses
and Grace cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Grace closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Maguire quickly recovers to half guard.
Maguire is trying to stand back up but Grace is controlling him
Grace is just content to waste time from the top position. Maguire takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Maguire wants to sweep here but Grace controlling him for the moment.
Grace wants to control from the top but Maguire keeps moving.
Grace stops Maguire from standing up.
Maguire keeping moving, preventing Grace from controlling successfully.
Grace is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maguire is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Grace looking to sit in guard and control but Maguire gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Grace wants to hit a switch here but Maguire passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Grace there!
Grace tries to reverse the position but Maguire maintains control.
Grace is working hard here to advance position.

Grace tries to lock up and control but Maguire gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Grace is squirming around, avoiding Maguire's attempts to control the action.
Grace is wriggling around trying to escape.
Maguire wants to control the pace but Grace is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Grace is trying desperately to improve position.
Grace manages to regain half guard. Good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grace is trying to control but can't.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maguire slows the pace down in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steel Maguire was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Grace defending well as Maguire loads up on a big left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Royce Grace dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Maguire throws a right and a left that Grace avoids nicely.
Maguire defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grace.
Grace uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maguire.
Maguire stuffs the takedown.
Steel Maguire is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Maguire takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Grace misses with a takedown
and Maguire counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Grace. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grace will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Grace closes the distance and clinches up with Maguire, looking for a takedown. Grace pushes Maguire against the ropes but Maguire circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Maguire misses with a looping left.
Grace looks for a takedown but Maguire sprawls well.
Maguire tries to work over Grace's front leg with a kick but Grace checks it.
Maguire fails in his attempt to clinch.
Grace ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Nice sprawl there from Maguire as Grace shoots in.
A solid leg kick lands there for Maguire.
Maguire tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Grace manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Maguire pushes Grace up against the ropes in a clinch.
Maguire gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Grace jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maguire walks away with a smile on his face. Grace gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Grace keeps the fight on the outside.
No joy there for Maguire, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maguire punishes Grace's body with a nice straight punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maguire looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Maguire moves into the clinch.
Maguire working Grace over with knees to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maguire gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Grace.
Maguire struggles to land a body shot inside as Grace controls his hands.
Maguire tries to stall but Grace uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Maguire lands a nice knee to the body.
Maguire stalls.

Maguire breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Grace dodges the punch combination from Maguire.
Steel Maguire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grace avoids a punch combination nicely.
A swing and a miss from Maguire.

A looping hook to the body misses from Grace. Maguire does a little dance to reset his feet.
Maguire misses with a body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grace.
Grace shoots in and drives through. Maguire sprawls well.
Maguire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maguire wants it to stay on the feet.
Maguire lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grace circles away quickly and effectively.
Maguire throws a leg kick but Grace sees it coming and moves out of range.
Maguire feints a jab promting Grace to slip. Maguire then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Grace slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Maguire pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Grace shoots for a takedown but Maguire saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Steel Maguire is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Grace has an Americana. Maguire didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Grace is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Grace hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
