Speed comes to the cage accompanied by Trivium / Shogun. Paterson has chosen Guerilla Radio by Rage Against The Machine as his entrance music. Cameron Speed had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Paterson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Speed throws a leg kick that misses.
Paterson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Cameron Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Speed closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Paterson wants to get back to full guard.
Speed takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Speed is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Paterson defends it well.
Speed is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Paterson!

Paterson is staying active underneath Speed, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Speed moves nicely into side control.
Speed is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Paterson sneaks back into half guard.
Speed is looking to take a break and control but Paterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Speed is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Paterson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Speed.

Speed is working for a rear naked choke. Paterson is not defending it well and Speed has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Paterson refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Paterson's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Cameron Speed seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
