Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Silver Back (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hollis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Back kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is One 24. Hollis has chosen UGK - Pocket Full of Stones as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Silver Back!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hollis!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Back catches Hollis right on the button with a cross.
Hollis is looking to chop away at Back's legs.
Hollis scores with a decent looking hook.
An inside leg kick from Hollis misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hollis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Back has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Back and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Hollis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Back.
Back wants to land a leg kick but Hollis is out of range.

and Hollis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hollis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Back looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Back lands with a thumping leg kick.
Back throws a big shot that misses.
Hollis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Back. That did some damage!
Back tries for a takedown but Hollis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Back throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silver Back seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Back closes the distance and clinches up with Hollis, looking for a takedown. Back pushes Hollis against the cage but Hollis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Back looks to land a left hand but Hollis moved out of range nicely.

Back shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hollis is trying to defend but Back finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Back is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Hollis to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Back in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Back accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hollis wants to stand up but Back is controlling him.

Back has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Back thows a huge punch but Hollis dodges it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hollis is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Back rather than just go for the knockout.

Back lands with a hook. Hollis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Some bone on bone action there as Hollis checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Back connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Back is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hollis.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Back.
Back bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Back will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Back throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hollis's waist but Hollis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Back off to one side.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Back connects with a nice short shot to Hollis's temple.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Back pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hollis back to the cage. Back follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Back throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Back connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Silver Back is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hollis throws a low kick but Back avoids it.
Hollis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Hollis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hollis moves forwards but Back connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Back ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Back shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hollis sprawls well. Hollis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Back gets slowly back to his feet.

Hollis checks a leg kick nicely.
Hollis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Back checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hollis tries to work over Back's front leg with a kick but Back checks it.
Hollis throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Back makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hollis really felt that one!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hollis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Back slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Well Back has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
