The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slice tries to keep at a distance but Mahmut has taken the fight into the clinch.
Slice has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mahmut is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mahmut manages to break the clinch.
Mahmut tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slice swivels and escapes.

Slice gets a takedown into half guard.
Mahmut trying to control but Slice postures up.
Slice thows a huge punch but Mahmut dodges it nicely.
Mahmut is looking to control Slice's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mahmut avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mahmut regains full guard. Nicely done.
