The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Monroe.
Sonni dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sonni tries to close the distance and clinch but Monroe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Monroe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sonni thuds his right hand into Monroe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sonni misses with a wild body shot.
Monroe lands with a nice body punch.
Mahti Sonni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sonni closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sonni doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Monroe misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sonni blocks an uppercut.
Monroe struggles to land a body shot inside as Sonni controls his hands.
Sonni scores with a shoulder strike.
Sonni has Monroe pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Monroe manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sonni throws a head punch that misses.

Sonni lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Monroe goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Sonni presses Monroe against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Sonni swings wildly with an uppercut but Monroe uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sonni is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Sonni goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Sonni has clasped his hands together around Monroe's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Sonni in side control, throwing shots but Monroe defends.
Monroe stops Sonni from passing to mount.
Monroe manages to get back to half guard.
Sonni wants to pass to mount but Monroe is defending the position.
Sonni not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Sonni uses his free foot to push down on Monroe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Monroe.

Sonni can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Monroe is looking to escape.

Sonni thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Monroe is rocked!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sonni avoids the attempt from Monroe to control.
Monroe is still in real trouble! Can Sonni finish him?
Monroe is bucking up trying to escape but Sonni cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Monroe can't escape the position.
Sonni trying to control but Monroe is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sonni is landing with some decent strikes but Monroe is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Sonni! Monroe is hurt baaadly! Sonni is firing away with more strikes - Monroe is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
