Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kid Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vera might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to You are just a JOKE!. Stephen Williams struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera throws a low kick, looking for Williams's leg but Williams calmly moves out of range.
Williams looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Vera misses with a series of wild punches.
Williams motions for Vera to come forward. Williams throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vera comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Vera misses with an attempted mid kick.
Stephen Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vera throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

It looks like Stephen Williams has been cut.
Vera throws a right and a left that Williams avoids nicely.
Vera scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vera throws a head kick but Williams moves out of range.
Vera misses with the combination.
Vera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Williams backs up against the cage.
Williams steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Vera. That one must have hurt.

and Vera counters with a series of strikes that sends Williams to the canvas! Vera follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Williams is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams is still in real trouble! Can Vera finish him?

Vera missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Williams utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Williams seems to have recovered his senses.
Vera content to stall in guard here.

Kid Vera has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Vera drops Williams with a left and a right! Oh, Williams is hurt - Vera dives into side control looking to finish!

That has opened up Stephen Williams's cut even more.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Vera has hold of Williams's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Williams tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vera cranks the arm and Williams screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Williams, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

In his post fight interview, Kid Vera started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
