Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Ives (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexey Ignashov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Ives!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexey Ignashov!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ives connects with a solid leg kick.
Ives swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ives misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ignashov counters with a leg kick.
Ignashov slips under a jab.
Ignashov throws a solid leg kick but Ives takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ignashov.
Ignashov fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ives catches Ignashov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Alexey Ignashov has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ives thows a leg kick but Ignashov checks it
and Ignashov counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Ives doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ignashov throws a head kick that misses
and Ives counters with a slapping leg kick.
Ignashov misses with a head kick.
Ignashov throws a head kick that misses.
Ives loads up on a big right hand but Ignashov slips the punch.

Ignashov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Ignashov closes the distance and pushes Ives back into the cage.

Ives breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ignashov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ives misses with a body kick.
Ignashov tries to land a leg kick but Ives saw it coming and moves away.
Ignashov throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Ives gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ignashov avoids the elbow strike from Ives, against the cage.
Ives misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ignashov lands a nice elbow.

Ives pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ignashov closes the distance and pushes Ives back into the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ignashov blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A body shot lands from Ives.
Ives blocks an uppercut.
Ignashov tries a knee to the head but Ives blocks it.
Ives lands with a light punch inside.
Ives can't find room to land a body shot as Ignashov controls the action.
Ives misses with a hook from the clinch.
Ives tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ignashov avoids it.
Ives throws an elbow that misses.
Ives is trying to break the clinch but Ignashov is controlling him.
Ignashov throws a punch but it's blocked by Ives.

Ives breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ignashov tries to land knees in the clinch but Ives avoids the damage to the body.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ignashov just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ives's brow.
Ives has a couple of punches blocked by Ignashov.
Ignashov creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Ives's defenses.
Ives swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ives throws an elbow that misses.
Ives takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Johnny Ives has been cut.

Ignashov blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Ives lands an elbow that stopped Ignashov in his tracks for a moment.
Ives pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ives.
Ives gets through Ignashov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


That has opened up Alexey Ignashov's cut even more.
Ives is trying to force a seperation but Ignashov has the dominant position.
Ignashov managing to block the knees to the body from Ives.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ives fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
With the fighters up against the cage, Ives throws an elbow but misses.
Ives is trying to break free.
Ignashov will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ives up against the cage.
Ignashov lands a nice knee to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ives tries to land knees in the clinch but Ignashov avoids the damage to the body.
Ives tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Still in the clinch, Ives scores with a nice short uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alexey Ignashov will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ignashov moves into the clinch successfully.
Ives misses with a body punch.
Ignashov throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ivess head.
Ives wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ignashov softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Ives tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Ives stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ives is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ignashov is defending well for now.

Ives breaks from the clinch.
Ives is looking to slow Ignashov down with leg kicks.
Alexey Ignashov seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ignashov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ignashov is breathing heavily.
Ives pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ignashov back to the cage. Ives follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Ives throws a good cross that connects.


The cut above Alexey Ignashov's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ives slips under a jab from Ignashov.

Ives's corner calls for a 1-2. Ives obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Ignashov counters with a good low kick that Ives was not able to check.
Ignashov takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ignashov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ives misses with a looping right.
Ignashov blocks a head kick by Ives.
Alexey Ignashov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ives waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ignashov.

Ignashov drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


Alexey Ignashov's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Ives throws a looping overhand right but Ignashov ducks down to avoid it.
Ives misses with a low kick.

Ignashov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ives, pushing him back against the cage.

Ignashov lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ives escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ignashov misses with a body kick.
Ives misses with a wild combination.
Ignashov lands a head kick. Ives smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Ignashov closes the distance and pushes Ives back into the cage.

Ignashov avoids the elbow strike from Ives, against the cage.
Ignashov pushes Ives back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Still in the clinch, Ives scores with a nice short uppercut.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Alexey Ignashov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Johnny Ives!

Our winner, Johnny Ives, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
