These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maquiavel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maguila.
Maquiavel throws the left hand but Maguila avoids the punch easily.

Maguila scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Maguila works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maquiavel managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Maguila.

Maguila is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maquiavel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Maguila has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maquiavel tries to buck Maguila off but Maguila is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maguila is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Maquiavel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
