The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvic ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Smith clinches with his opponent.
A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Smith as Silvic tries to tie him up.

Smith is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Smith blocks an elbow strike from Silvic.
Silvic landing knees to the head.
Silvic trying to stall but Smith improves his position.
Silvic is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Smith has denied him.
Silvic wants to break free but Smith has control.
Smith lands a hook that snaps the head of Silvic backwards.
It looks like Dominick Silvic has been cut.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Silvic throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Silvic is trying to maintain a safe position but Smith gets an underhook and turns Silvic into the cage.
Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silvic bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head.
Silvic takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Smith cracks a nice hook into Silvic's ribs.
Silvic tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silvic as he jumps to the side.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silvic manages to avoid it.
Silvic tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Smith lands a nice hook to Silvic's body. Silvic takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silvic is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Smith is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silvic defends it well.
Silvic wants to get back to his feet.
