Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Smith!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.

Smith feints and as Boom raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith postures up in Boom's guard and throws a big left but Boom blocks it.
Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boom is keeping the position for now.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith controlling from the top position.
Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Boom pulls Smith in close to his closed guard and prevents Smith from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boom to the mat! Boom manages to get full guard.
Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Boom wants to sweep here but Smith controlling him for the moment.
Smith passes Boom's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Smith keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boom avoids it really well and circles away.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boom tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Smith controlling the pace for now.
Smith raining down shots from the mount!
Boom is breathing heavily.
Smith punching from mount but Boom doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Smith goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Boom turns into him and now he's in Smith's guard.
Boom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Boom defends it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smith is trying for a kimura here. Boom looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Smith wins by kimura!
