PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pacman Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kick Ass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Kick Ass!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ass takes one to the chin there.

It looks like Kick Ass has been cut.
Ass tries to close the distance and clinch but Barnes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barnes avoids the head kick by Ass.
Ass throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ass forces Barnes back against the cage and clinches.
Ass trying to stall but Barnes improves his position.

Barnes scores with a hook to the body.

Barnes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barnes stuns Ass with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ass takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ass checks a leg kick.

Kick Ass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ass ducks under a wild hook from Barnes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Barnes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ass thows a left - swing and a miss!
Barnes connects with a looping right hand.

That has opened up Kick Ass's cut even more.
Ass misses with a shot to the body
and Barnes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Barnes throws a leg kick but Ass sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Barnes connects with a single shot there.
Ass fakes the leg kick and cracks Barnes in the body.
Ass is breathing heavily.
Barnes throws a nice looking combination but Ass bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ass missing with a left hand there. Barnes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Barnes swats away the attempt to clinch by Ass.
Barnes misses with a straight right.
Ass throws a nice inside leg kick.
Barnes lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

The cut above Kick Ass's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ass checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ass dodges the punch combination from Barnes.
Donk. Barnes catches Ass right on the button with a cross.
Barnes throws a leg kick which misses Ass's front leg but catches the back leg as Ass tries to avoid it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ass connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barnes's hands.
Barnes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Barnes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ass on the side of the head.

Kick Ass's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Barnes blocks a head kick by Ass.
Pacman Barnes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barnes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ass backs up against the cage.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kick Ass's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
