Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Ames!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roland Smith!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in but Ames avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ames throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ames ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Smith fails with the takedown
and Ames counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smith's knee momentarily.
Smith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ames scores with a nice head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ames lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ames lands a really nice looking cross but Smith seems unphased.
Nathan Ames seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Ames connects with a solid leg kick.
Smith looks gassed!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Smith crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ames - the referee stops the clock and Smith gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ames. Smith manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Nice shot lands for Ames.

Smith takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Ames lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ames lands a nice shot to the body.
Ames throws a shot to the body.

Ames lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ames cracks Smith with a good jab.
Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Ames is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
No joy there for Ames, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ames lands the left hand.
Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ames to score with a decent uppercut.

Nice straight punches there by Ames. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ames.
Ames lets loose with a powerful body kick. Smith will feel that in the morning.
Smith blocks a head kick by Ames.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ames.
Ames digs a good hook to Smith's body.
Smith takes one to the chin there.
Ames lands a jab.
Decent striking displayed by Ames there.
Ames scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.
Ames connects with a leg kick. Smith looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ames cracks Smith with a right hand to the side of the head.

Ames is looking to slow Smith down with leg kicks.
Ames throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ames thuds his shin into the meat of Smith's side.
Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ames scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Ames tests Smith's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nathan Ames is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ames cracks Smith with an open hand slap.
Smith walks into a left hand.
Ames ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A thudding body kick lands there by Ames!
Ames lands an overhand right.


Smith is rocked!

Ames fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ames connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Smith scrambles back to his feet.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Ames finish him?
Are you kidding me?! Ames ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Smith clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nathan Ames!
Nathan Ames really struggled to get his t-shirt was on before his hand was raised. Making sure that TFP Graphics - Pit Inc logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
