The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobral changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Franklinberger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sobral tries for a kimura but Franklinberger is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sobral is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Franklinberger has escaped the position, nice work there.
Franklinberger really is a fat lump.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sobral has hold of Franklinberger's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Franklinberger tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sobral cranks the arm and Franklinberger screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Franklinberger, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Renato Sobral!
A less than humble Renato Sobral misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
