Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Antonus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Obed Kunirio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Obed Kunirio enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Antonus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Obed Kunirio!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Antonus shoots in for a takedown but Kunirio shows good takedown defense.
Kunirio misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Antonus.
Antonus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kunirio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Antonus somewhat.

Kunirio scores with a crisp jab that stopped Antonus in his tracks.

Kunirio gets a clinch.
Kunirio gets through Antonus's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Kunirio is trying to break the clinch but Antonus has him pressed against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Antonus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kunirio throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Antonus's waist but Antonus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kunirio off to one side.

Kunirio lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Antonus is breathing heavily.
Kunirio has had enough of the clinch but Antonus keeps him there for the moment.
Antonus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kunirio walks away with a smile on his face. Antonus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Antonus shoots in for a double leg but Kunirio sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kunirio instigates a clinch.
Kunirio lands a left hand.
Kunirio has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Antonus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Antonus wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kunirio pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kunirio fails with a takedown attempt.

Antonus tries to keep at a distance but Kunirio has taken the fight into the clinch.

Antonus can't get the takedown.
Antonus keeps control of Kunirio as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kunirio is trying to force a seperation but Antonus has the dominant position.
Kunirio lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Antonus backwards.

Kunirio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kunirio lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Antonus keeps control of Kunirio as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kunirio throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

A right handed body shot lands from Kunirio.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kunirio lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Kunirio breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kunirio connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Kunirio moves into range and clinches up with Antonus.
Kunirio lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Kunirio.
A nice right hand lands inside from Kunirio.
Kunirio stalls.
Kunirio pushes Antonus back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kunirio lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Obed Kunirio dominated that round.

Kunirio shoots in for a takedown but Antonus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kunirio is looking to break free of the clinch but Antonus has double underhooks.
Kunirio looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

With the fighters up against the cage, Kunirio throws an elbow but misses.

Kunirio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Antonus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Antonus wants it to stay on the feet.
Marcus Antonus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Obed Kunirio.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kunirio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kunirio has closed the distance and engaged Antonus in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Antonus drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kunirio gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Obed Kunirio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Antonus takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kunirio can do anything to dispel that myth.
