And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shamil Basaev!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basaev scores with a jab.

It looks like Huey Freeman has been cut.
Huey Freeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Freeman looks to clinch
letting Basaev counter with a right hand.
Basaev is looking to land body kicks.
Freeman shoots for a double leg takedown but Basaev sprawls well. He's pushed Freeman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Freeman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Basaev fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Freeman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Freeman dives in and grabs Basaev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Basaev pushes down on Freeman's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Huey Freeman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Freeman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Basaev paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Freeman closes the distance but Basaev moves to the side
and Basaev counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Freeman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Freeman is breathing heavily.

Basaev drops Freeman with a beautiful combination! Freeman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Basaev is looking for the KO!
Basaev steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Freeman is out on his feet! Basaev sets himself and nearly takes Freeman's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
