The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rabban shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rabban postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Savu to stand up.

Rabban drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rabban postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Savu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rabban, into his guard.

Rabban is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Rabban had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Savu defends it easily.
Rabban wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Rabban working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Savu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Savu wants to pass the guard but Rabban is keeping the position.
Savu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Savu wants to control from the top but Rabban keeps moving.

Rabban looking for a triangle here. Savu is fighting it but it looks tight! Rabban pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Savu is tapping out - this one is all over!
