Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Sheilds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Carlisi Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Carlisi Junior!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheilds changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carlisi Junior tries to avoid it but Sheilds manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carlisi Junior to the ground. Carlisi Junior escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carlisi Junior leaves Sheilds with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carlisi Junior shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sheilds eats them both and turns towards Carlisi Junior to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Carlisi Junior decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sheilds might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sheilds avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carlisi Junior.
Carlisi Junior is trying to control the action in half guard but Sheilds is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sheilds is pressing down on Carlisi Junior's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sheilds seems keen to control Carlisi Junior's posture.

Carlisi Junior is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sheilds is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sheilds has escaped and now he's on top!
Sheilds cracks Carlisi Junior with a solid left hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carlisi Junior can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sheilds postures up.
Sheilds is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sheilds forces his way into half guard.
Carlisi Junior really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sheilds. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sheilds is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carlisi Junior sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sheilds scores with a couple of good head shots there.
