PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Battle kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Break Stuff. Desmond Hume told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andre Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle scores with a nice head shot.
Hume lands a leg kick that knocks Battle off balance momentarily.
Battle moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Battle darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hume shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hume.
Battle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Battle feints a jab promting Hume to slip. Battle then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hume slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Desmond Hume has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hume shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Battle sprawls well. Battle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hume gets slowly back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
