PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Voax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lonnie Kiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voax's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Ripper. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voax fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kiger will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kiger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kiger closes the distance and clinches up with Voax, looking for a takedown. Kiger pushes Voax against the cage but Voax circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kiger throws a right hand that Voax ducks under and follows up with a left that Voax also avoids with ease.
Kiger lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Voax circles away quickly and effectively.

Kiger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kiger lands in his opponent's guard.
Voax not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Voax is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kiger is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Kiger drops back looking for a leg! Voax is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Voax manages to kick Kiger off! Kiger jumps back into Voax's guard.

Kiger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kiger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Voax has his foot on Kiger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kiger works his way back into a safe position though.

Kiger postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Voax is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kiger, into his guard.
Kiger looks gassed!

Voax postures up and lands a big shot to Kiger's brow.
Voax is working Kiger over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
