Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eiji Kisaragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Deby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eiji Kisaragi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Deby!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deby looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kisaragi!

Deby breaks from Kisaragi's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Deby controlling his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Deby is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kisaragi defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deby is riding his opponent, not letting Kisaragi buck him off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Deby controlling the positon.

Deby is persistently looking for the submission but Kisaragi is defending it well.

Deby seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Deby takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Robert Deby wasn't active enough on the ground.

Deby tries to keep at a distance but Kisaragi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Deby is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Kisaragi jumps guard but Deby stands there with Kisaragi around his waist. Kisaragi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Deby takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kisaragi looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Kisaragi lands with a slapping head kick.

Deby drives through with a takedown into Kisaragi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Eiji Kisaragi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Deby got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kisaragi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Deby has managed to get both his arms back between Kisaragi's legs - danger averted.

Well, if Deby is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kisaragi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Deby is working away from the top position though.

Deby is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Kisaragi is in real trouble.

Deby is trying to stick to Kisaragi's back but Kisaragi is turning into Deby. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Deby's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kisaragi.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eiji Kisaragi.
I think Kisaragi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
