Schultz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Proven (Hatebreed) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dave Schultz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz closes the distance but Miyaguchi moves to the side
enabling Miyaguchi to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Dave Schultz has been cut.
Schultz tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Schultz wants to clinch
and Miyaguchi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Miyaguchi tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Miyaguchi tries to work over Schultz's front leg with a kick but Schultz checks it.
Schultz doesn't manage to clinch there - Miyaguchi circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Miyaguchi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Schultz regains guard immediately.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
