These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Barton!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barton lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ames lands a jab to the nose.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Barton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Ames misses with a right hand
and Barton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Barton fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ames rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Barton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

A chopping leg kick lands by Barton.
Nathan Ames is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ames throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ames rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barton misses with a right hand
and Ames makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Ames counters with a slapping leg kick.

Well Ames has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
