The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Vilkastus.
Vilkastus tries to move into range but Takahashi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Mikko Vilkastus has been cut.
Takahashi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vilkastus defends it nicely.
Vilkastus pushes Takahashi away with a front kick.
Takahashi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vilkastus desperately trying to maintain half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vilkastus pushes Takahashi off looking to stand but Takahashi dives back in and keeps control.
Takahashi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vilkastus sees it coming and defends easily.
Takahashi is working for a kimura but Vilkastus is defending it quite comfortably.

Vilkastus is looking for a sweep. Takahashi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Takahashi is looking for a kimura but Vilkastus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Takahashi to get the leverage.
Takahashi is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Vilkastus is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
