PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between International Male (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominique Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rogers's choice of entrance music: Ashes to Ashes. Dominique Rogers told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Male lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rogers misses with a straight right.
Rogers tries for a takedown but Male sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Male with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Male lands a nice looking body kick.
Rogers wants to clinch but Male slips to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Male lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rogers misses with a looping left.
Male looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Male circles away from the clinch attempt
and Male counters with a low kick, right behind Rogers 's knee.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Male counters with a good low kick that Rogers was not able to check.

and Male counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. Male tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Male manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rogers looks gassed!

Rogers has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Male.
Rogers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Male circles away.
International Male has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominique Rogers.

Dominique Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rogers is trying desperately to land a takedown but Male is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Rogers.

Male feints and then cracks Rogers's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rogers down.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Both fighters circling a little - Male finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
