PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucius Vorenus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Boyd!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd throws a hook but Vorenus blocks it.
Vorenus moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Vorenus lands a head kick. Boyd smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Boyd avoids the head kick by Vorenus.
Vorenus misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Boyd counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Lucius Vorenus has been cut.
Boyd bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vorenus's head.
A shot to the liver by Vorenus. Beautiful body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vorenus bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Vorenus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Boyd swings away with a body shot that misses

and Vorenus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boyd's guard.
Vorenus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Vorenus wants to control from the top but Boyd keeps moving.
Vorenus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boyd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vorenus passes Boyd's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Vorenus seems to be looking for submissions.
Vorenus is stalling here. Boyd is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Vorenus seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Boyd has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Boyd decides to stand back up. Boyd steps back and let's Vorenus get back to his feet.
Vorenus tries to clinch but Boyd moves out of range.
Boyd checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Vorenus scores with a decent looking hook.
Boyd lands with a cross.
Billy Boyd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters circling - Vorenus throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Boyd scores with a nice strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Vorenus clinches up with Boyd and pushes him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boyd throws a head punch that misses.

Vorenus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vorenus lands a really nice looking cross but Boyd seems unphased.
Boyd checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Vorenus looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vorenus is controlling the pace.
Vorenus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Boyd is staying active underneath Vorenus, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lucius Vorenus has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Boyd lands with a shot to the body.
Boyd misses the body punch
and Vorenus counters with a leg kick.
Boyd throws a hook but Vorenus blocks it.
Vorenus moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Vorenus showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boyd.
Vorenus lands with a kick to the ribs.
Boyd looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vorenus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boyd misses with a straight right.
Boyd misses with a series of wild punches.
Boyd takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Vorenus.
Vorenus lands a nice hook to Boyd's body. Boyd takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Vorenus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Vorenus lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Boyd at a distance.
Vorenus throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boyd stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Boyd drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Boyd is rocked!
Vorenus closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Boyd out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
