The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brookins shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gracie is controlling Brookins's trapped leg to prevent Brookins from advancing to side control.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Brookins wants to stand and escape but instead Gracie has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Brookins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie gets to his feet. Brookins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brookins, pushing him back against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brookins manages to get himself to full guard.
