Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Salampessy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Orndorf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricardo Salampessy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Orndorf!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salampessy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Orndorf can pounce on him.
Orndorf cracks Salampessy with a good jab.
Orndorf takes a swing at Salampessy's ribcage but misses.
Paul Orndorf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Salampessy.
Salampessy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Orndorf tries to avoid it but Salampessy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Orndorf to the ground. Orndorf escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Salampessy wants to clinch.
Orndorf shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Salampessy as he jumps to the side.

Orndorf moves into the clinch successfully.
Salampessy takes an elbow to the temple.
Orndorf lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Ricardo Salampessy has been cut.
Orndorf manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Orndorf pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Salampessy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Orndorf gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Orndorf doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Orndorf wants to stand up but Salampessy is controlling him.
Salampessy wants to control from the top but Orndorf keeps moving.
Orndorf is looking to stand up but Salampessy isn't so interested in that idea.

Orndorf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Salampessy drops back looking for a leg! Orndorf is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Orndorf manages to kick Salampessy off! Salampessy jumps back into Orndorf's guard.

Orndorf is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Orndorf tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Salampessy just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Orndorf creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Salampessy's defenses.
Salampessy lands a shoulder strike.
Orndorf lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Salampessy backwards.

Orndorf breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Salampessy shoots in for a double leg but Orndorf sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Orndorf closes the distance and pushes Salampessy back into the ropes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Orndorf lands an elbow that stopped Salampessy in his tracks for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salampessy digs a right hand underneath Orndorf's ribcage. Orndorf let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Orndorf fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Salampessy can't get the takedown.
Salampessy tries to throw a body punch but Orndorf avoids it by throwing Salampessy back against the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Orndorf dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Salampessy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Orndorf avoids it really well and circles away.

Orndorf gets control of Salampessy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Orndorf will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Salampessy tries to stand but Orndorf is controlling from the bottom.
Orndorf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salampessy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Salampessy is trying to control the action in half guard but Orndorf is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Ricardo Salampessy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Salampessy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Orndorf defend it? Salampessy steps over the head and cranks it - Orndorf is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Salampessy!
