Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Ponting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Choo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Ponting!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Choo!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponting bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Choo's head.
Ponting scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Ponting misses with the combination.
A slow jab from Ponting misses its intended target.
Ponting throws the left hand but Choo avoids the punch easily.
Ponting throws a series of punches but Choo moves out of range.
Choo ducks under a wild hook from Ponting.

Ricky Ponting seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ponting slaps away a takedown attempt from Choo, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Choo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ponting is looking to control Choo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ponting avoid being mounted?

Ponting throws a right hand that Choo ducks under and follows up with a left that Choo also avoids with ease.
Choo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ponting sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Choo somewhat.

Ponting moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Choo is keen to just control but Ponting is a slippery customer.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ricky Ponting will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ponting tries to lock up and control but Choo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ponting tries to control Choo's body but Choo pushes him off. Ponting squirms to his side and now Choo has his back!
Ponting is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricky Ponting.
I think Ponting has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
