Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neil Pert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pert comes to the cage accompanied by Tom Sawyer-Rush. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neil Pert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Finley!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pert manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pert looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Finley is fending him off so far but Pert persists. Nope, Finley circles away and we're back to standing.
Pert shoots in for a takedown but Finley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pert dives in and grabs Finley's left leg, looking for a takedown. Finley pushes down on Pert's head and hops out.

Pert decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Pert is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Finley sees it coming and defends easily.

Pert is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Finley still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Finley has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Pert shoots in looking for a takedown but Finley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pert's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pert fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Finley avoids it really well and circles away.
Finley tries to clinch but Pert moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Finley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pert is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Finley to the mat. Finley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Pert postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Finley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pert, into his guard.
Finley wanted to stand there but Pert had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Finley drops back looking for a leg! Pert is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pert manages to kick Finley off! Finley jumps back into Pert's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Neil Pert will probably get the nod.

Finley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pert doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pert manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Finley has his foot on Pert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pert works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Finley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
