Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Proudstar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mui Thai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Proudstar comes to the cage accompanied by "Run to the hills" by Iron Maiden. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Proudstar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mui Thai!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Proudstar.
Proudstar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Proudstar lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Thai shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Proudstar is trying to stand up here but Thai is controlling him well.
Thai throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Thai sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Proudstar defending well though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thai thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Proudstar wants to improve his position but Thai is controlling well.
Proudstar is looking to control Thai's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Proudstar avoid being mounted?
Thai prevents Proudstar from improving his position.
Proudstar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Proudstar gets full guard.

Proudstar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Proudstar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thai defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Proudstar keeping moving, preventing Thai from controlling successfully.
Proudstar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Thai wants to control from the top but Proudstar keeps moving.
Proudstar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Proudstar keeping moving, preventing Thai from controlling successfully.

Proudstar has his foot on Thai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thai works his way back into a safe position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Proudstar wants to sweep here but Thai controlling him for the moment.
Thai is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Thai wants to control from the top but Proudstar keeps moving.
Proudstar can't keep his opponent in guard - Thai advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Thai sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Proudstar defending well though.
Thai throwing shots but Proudstar is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Proudstar tries to kick Thai off but Thai keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Proudstar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Thai thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Proudstar's head.
Thai wants to take a breather but Proudstar is having none of it.
Proudstar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Thai drops an elbow to the side of Proudstar's head.
Proudstar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Thai.
Thai wants to lay and pray for a moment but Proudstar keeps working.
Thai slips a nice elbow through Proudstar's hands, connecting with Proudstar's forehead.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thai not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Thai passes to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mui Thai will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Thai connects with a solid leg kick.
Thai connects with a right hand. Proudstar shakes it off.
Proudstar throws a low kick, looking for Thai's leg but Thai calmly moves out of range.
Thai on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Proudstar. Proudstar obviously looking to wear him down.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thai lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Proudstar backs up against the cage.
Thai swings widly with a right hand
and Proudstar makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Thai really felt that one!
Thai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Proudstar circles away.
Proudstar misses with a two punch combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Proudstar swivels and escapes.
Thai swings for the body but Proudstar moves out of range.
Thai sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Proudstar throws a low kick but it's checked well by Thai.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thai misses with a body kick.
Proudstar throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thai is breathing heavily.
A good leg kick by Proudstar.
Proudstar scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.


It looks like Mui Thai has been cut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Proudstar keeps Thai at a distance using the push kick.
Proudstar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thai has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Proudstar cracks Thai with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Thai looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Proudstar finish him?


Thai is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Proudstar feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Thai collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). James Proudstar!
