The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aguiar closes the distance and clinches up with Beauregard, looking for a takedown. Aguiar pushes Beauregard against the cage but Beauregard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Beauregard is pressed up against the cage. Aguiar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Beauregard down to the mat. Beauregard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Horrible takedown by Aguiar or perhaps it was just good defense by Beauregard which made him look bad.

Beauregard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aguiar pinned against the cage. Aguiar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Beauregard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Aguiar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Beauregard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Aguiar is in Beauregard's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
