The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Megani misses with a hook.
Colergo tries for a takedown but Megani circles away easily
so Megani counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Megani with a nice head shot there.
Megani engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Colergo keeping moving, preventing Megani from controlling successfully.

It looks like Megani might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Luigi Megani.
Megani rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Colergo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Megani's guard now.

Megani lands a decent shot there.
Megani wants to stand and escape but Colergo is having none of it.

Colergo is fighting to break Megani's control of his arms but Megani is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Colergo wants to pass the guard but Megani is keeping the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Manny Colergo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Megani throws a right hand that misses
and Colergo counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Colergo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Megani paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Colergo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Megani counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Megani is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Megani is trying to control the action in half guard but Colergo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Megani winds up and cracks Colergo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Colergo wants to control but Megani is keeping busy.
Colergo is breathing heavily.
Megani looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Megani scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Megani slips a nice elbow through Colergo's hands, connecting with Colergo's forehead.
Colergo won't allow Megani to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Megani content to control rather than advance.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Megani takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Megani tries to pass the half guard into mount. Colergo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Colergo is refusing to be controlled, as Megani sits in half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Colergo wants to clinch up but Megani keeps it at a distance.
Megani misses with an uppercut
and Megani takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Colergo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Megani counters with a single leg into guard. Colergo didn't expect that.
Megani content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Megani's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Colergo keeping full guard, as Megani tries to pass.
Megani wants to control from the top but Colergo keeps moving.
Megani passes into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Megani is keen to just control but Colergo is a slippery customer.

Megani uses his free foot to push down on Colergo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Colergo.
Megani trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Megani cracks Colergo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Megani lands a nice shot to the head.
Colergo is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Megani postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Colergo out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Megani goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
