The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera throws a looping overhand right but Ramos ducks down to avoid it.
Ramos shoots for a takedown but Rivera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rivera looks to land a left hand but Ramos moved out of range nicely.
Rivera misses with a series of wild punches.
Rivera throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ramos.
Sloppy strikes from Rivera. Those never looked like landing.
Rivera looks to land a combination but Ramos avoids it well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivera throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Ramos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rivera can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ramos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ramos is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rivera looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ramos gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rivera is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ramos lets go of the hold and Rivera can pop his arm back in it's socket.
