Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter McCool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Camas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCool misses with a takedown attempt - Camas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McCool closes the distance and clinches up with Camas, looking for a takedown. McCool pushes Camas against the cage but Camas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Camas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCool paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McCool throws a shot from downtown. Camas moves away and avoids it.
McCool misses with a body shot.
McCool shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Camas tries to clinch up but McCool circles away and keeps his distance.
Camas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McCool stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCool wants it to stay on the feet.
McCool throws the left hand but Camas avoids the punch easily.
Camas takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
McCool shoots in for a takedown but Camas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter McCool. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Camas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Camas showed some decent athleticism there.
McCool is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

McCool is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Camas defends well.
Camas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

McCool working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Camas has passed into half guard!
Still in half guard, Camas seems content to control.
Camas is nestled in close to McCool, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

McCool is looking for a sweep. Camas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Camas looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
McCool tries to get to full guard but Camas has control of the leg.
McCool is looking to control Camas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McCool avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Camas in particular looking to stall.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Camas is trying to control the action in half guard but McCool is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Owen Camas has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McCool.
Camas shoots in and drives through. McCool sprawls well.
Peter McCool seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Camas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McCool is fending him off so far but Camas persists. Nope, McCool circles away and we're back to standing.
Camas dives in and grabs McCool's left leg, looking for a takedown. McCool pushes down on Camas's head and hops out.

McCool has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Camas uses from the top position.
McCool manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
