Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kaine Abelsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jericho Marquardt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marquardt has chosen Welcome to the TerrorDome as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaine Abelsons!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jericho Marquardt!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abelsons on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Marquardt. Marquardt obviously looking to wear him down.
Abelsons takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Marquardt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Marquardt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Abelsons manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Marquardt has Abelsons in his guard.

Marquardt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Abelsons is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marquardt.

Jericho Marquardt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Marquardt shoots in looking for a takedown. Abelsons tries to sprawl out of it but Marquardt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Abelsons manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
