Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BumbleBee Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Why can't we be friends?. BumbleBee Man will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mitch Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, BumbleBee Man!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Man. Those never looked like landing.
A punch combination from Miles misses.
Miles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Man but Man pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Miles takes the fight into the clinch.

Miles gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Miles moves nicely into side control.
Man is looking to regain half guard here but Miles keeps moving and retains side control.
Miles in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Miles creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Man is looking for a sweep.
Miles scores with punches from side control.
Miles lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Man down.
Man manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Man trying to control from the bottom.

Miles not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Miles is keen to just control but Man is a slippery customer.
Man wants to control but Miles is keeping busy.
Miles stalling away here and it's allowed Man to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Miles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Man is keeping the position for now.
Man is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Man is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Miles is in close to Man's body, working some short punches and elbows.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Miles stands up over Man, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Man wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man controls Miles momentarily but Miles frees himself.
Miles landing some decent shots from guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Man is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Man looks gassed!
Miles thows a big elbow that misses.
Miles distracts Man with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Miles lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Miles postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Man is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Miles, into his guard.
Man looking to sit in guard and control but Miles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Miles wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving.

Miles looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Man passes into side control.

Man wants to control but Miles is keeping him busy.
Miles is looking to regain half guard here but Man keeps moving and retains side control.
Miles sneaks back into half guard.
Miles blocking the ground and pound attempt from Man.
Miles is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Man seems to be working for a kimura but Miles defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitch Miles dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Man throws a right and a left that Miles avoids nicely.
Miles misses with a body shot.
Miles tries to clinch there but Man circles away.
Man fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Miles moves in looking to clinch but Man pushes him off.
Man tries to close the distance and clinch but Miles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Miles tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Man tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Miles counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Miles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miles has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Man avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Miles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Miles has managed to clinch.

Miles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Man throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Man throws a right and a left that both miss.
Man tries to bum rush Miles with a series of wild strikes but Miles uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Miles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Miles misses with a lunging right hand
and Man counters with a one-two to the body.
Miles has his takedown stuffed
and Man counters with a right hand to the body.
Miles takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Man fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Miles is out of range.
Man takes a swing at Miles's ribcage but misses.
Man misses with a combination

and Miles counters with a takedown into side control.
Man is working to avoid the ground and pound but Miles connects with a decent elbow.
Man is looking to reverse the position.
Man can't do much from the bottom here.

Man is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miles off and has taken his back!
Miles tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Man wants to control the action but instead Miles gets a body lock and reverses into Man's guard! Nice work!

Man working for a triangle but Miles defends it easily.
Man is breathing heavily.

Miles thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Miles cracks Man with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Miles working the ground and pound but Man is defending the strikes.
The ground and pound from Miles seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Miles thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Man is looking to reverse the position.
Miles scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Man to see if he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miles tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Miles wants to control but Man is keeping him busy.
Man tries to buck Miles off but Miles is having none of it.
Man takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Man tries to bench press Miles off him but Miles keeps the position.
Man taking a bit of punishment here - Miles scoring with strikes.

Man throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Miles.
Miles misses with an attempted mid kick.
Man swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Man swings for the body but Miles moves out of range.
Man tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Miles counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Man ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Miles moves away.
Man throws a sloppy head kick and Miles moves out of range easily.
Mitch Miles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Man clinches up with Miles and pushes him back against the cage.
Nice body punch from Miles - that landed with a thud.
Man tries to score a body lock takedown but Miles shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Miles has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Man is trying to keep an underhook but Miles manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Man takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Miles thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Miles throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Miles lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Miles tries to pass the half guard into mount. Man knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Man is refusing to be controlled, as Miles sits in half guard.
Miles working over Man with some ground and pound. Man looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Miles scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Miles throws a strike but Man avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Miles stopping the sweep attempt from Man.
Miles in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Man is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Man wants to sweep here but Miles controlling him for the moment.
Man manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Miles is working to get back to half guard.
Mitch Miles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Man tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Man avoids the attempt from Miles to control.
Miles tries to improve his position but instead Man has taken his back!

Man has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Miles has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Man lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Miles trying to control the hands but Man won't let him.

Man is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Man keeps control of the position as Miles tries to break free.
Mitch Miles is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Man is controlling the position but Miles somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Man is trying to control. Miles wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mitch Miles showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miles, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
