The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russel connects with a leg kick. Ransel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Russel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ransel with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Russel to score with a decent uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ransel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ransel tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Russel is looking to regain half guard here but Ransel keeps moving and retains side control.
