Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Yazerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edward Yazerman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edward Yazerman!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko misses with a wild body shot.
Yazerman takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Emelianenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Emelianenko swings away with a body shot that misses

and Yazerman counters by clinching up.
Emelianenko is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yazerman pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Knees to the body from Yazerman.

Emelianenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Yazerman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Emelianenko tries to avoid it but Yazerman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Emelianenko to the ground. Emelianenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Emelianenko stops a takedown attempt from Yazerman.
Emelianenko wants a takedown.

Yazerman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Emelianenko shoots in for a double leg but Yazerman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yazerman has momentary wrist control but Emelianenko slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yazerman looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Emelianenko puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Yazerman wants to improve his position but Emelianenko is controlling well.
Yazerman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Yazerman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Emelianenko's efforts to push away.

Yazerman is pressed up against the cage. Emelianenko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yazerman down to the mat. Yazerman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Yazerman tries to move into range but Emelianenko moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Yazerman is looking to clinch.
Yazerman slips a straight right by Emelianenko.
Yazerman avoids a punch combination nicely.

Yazerman gets a double leg takedown into Emelianenko's guard.
Emelianenko trying to keep a closed guard but Yazerman is proving a slippery customer.
Emelianenko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yazerman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Emelianenko pulls Yazerman in close to his closed guard and prevents Yazerman from doing any damage or advancing position.
Emelianenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yazerman is one step ahead there.

Yazerman passes Emelianenko's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Yazerman throwing shots but Emelianenko is blocking nicely.

Yazerman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Emelianenko is staying active underneath Yazerman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Emelianenko moves into full guard.
Emelianenko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Emelianenko tries to get out of the position.
Yazerman pushes down on Emelianenko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Emelianenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yazerman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yazerman's back!

I really don't envy Yazerman right now.

Emelianenko has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Yazerman.
